Although according to a popular belief physical therapy might have been originated from China it had come to practice in the modern times when was commonly used in London during 1986. It was practiced so that the patients in hospitals were able to maintain proper muscular function as well as mobility. In the year 1920 a group of the physiotherapists was formed in the UK by the name of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Due to lack of proper research works carried out in the field of Physiotherapy little progress has happened.

In the physical therapy treatment method a physiotherapist first assesses the condition of the patient through a number of close examinations. In most of the cases the physiotherapist looks for the symptoms that are involved. Often a physiotherapist uses a semistructured process that gives details about the diagnosis and the monitoring processes involved. It also gives details about the functional limitations that are involved. Based upon the physical therapy assessment definite type of treatment methods are suggested by the physiotherapist.
